Final Distribution: a fair, balanced distribution report for the estate
Estate Harmony produces a transparent Final Distribution by calculating each participant’s fair share across allocated movable assets, expected sales, sentimental preference effects, and cash adjustments—so the outcome is balanced and verifiable.
What the system calculates automatically
- • Total value of movable assets
- • Value of allocated/received items
- • Assets to sell, including net value for items with no participant interest
- • Sentimental premium effects
- • How preferences affect perceived value and fairness
Participant Cards
- • List and values of all allocated assets received
- • Fair share of allocated assets
- • Fair share of expected sales
- • Sentimental premium effect / adjustment
Stocks & Bonds (if included)
If Stocks & Bonds are part of the estate, holdings are split equally per ticker so each participant receives a fair portion of each ticker’s value.
Whole-share rule: if the number of shares for a ticker cannot be divided evenly by the number of participants, the system allocates the largest equal whole-share amount, rounded down, to each participant.
Any leftover shares, and their value, are moved to Assets to Sell in the Distribution Report.
This ensures fairness per ticker and gives each participant the choice later to keep or sell their portion.
Final balancing using Cash
The system completes the process with a Fair Share Adjustment using the estate’s Cash component to balance differences between participants.
The result is a final distribution where each participant’s net position matches the fair-share target.
Why this is transparent
- All inputs are listed: assets, valuations, and allocations
- All arithmetic is shown per participant
- Expected sales are clearly separated from allocated items
- Stocks & bonds leftovers are explicitly listed as Assets to Sell
- The report can be reviewed together to reduce disputes
